Over the years many other gas applications were encountered. In most cases the requirements for accuracy and availability were too high for the regular process instruments available on the market. Generally, costs related to the use of all kinds of process gasses have to be optimized and in some cases allocation of these costs per department has become necessary. This tendency is only logical if you imagine the most simple example; compressed air is more expensive to produce than natural gas.
